Context and Goals

Every two years in Hanover, Germany, LIGNA brings together key players in wood transformation for a truly international trade show. This global event covers the entire value chain — from forestry to material manufacturing, including high-performance machinery, with full-scale factories replicated on site.

In 2025, with over 1,400 exhibitors and 78,000 visitors from more than 156 countries, LIGNA reaffirmed its status as the world’s leading platform for networking, innovation, and economic opportunities.

The next edition will take place from Monday, May 10 to Friday, May 14, 2027, in Hanover — ushering in a new schedule that no longer overlaps with Ascension Thursday. Attendees will discover the latest trends in automation, digitalization, and sustainable production, along with a rich program of live demonstrations, conferences, and specialized areas such as LIGNA.CONNECTIVITY, SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION, ENGINEERED WOOD, and LIGNA Circular.

As part of the BOCA mission, participating in LIGNA 2027 represents a strategic opportunity to access a global network, build international business relationships, and explore cutting-edge technologies in wood transformation.

Results

At each edition, around thirty executives, production managers, operations and R&D directors take part in the mission organized by BOCA. The outcomes are tangible: several million dollars in equipment purchases, directly contributing to increased productivity for Quebec companies. But the benefits go beyond that, strong bonds are formed among participants, often leading to long-term partnerships. Without a doubt, these missions are a powerful driver of development and a resounding success.
